Short answer
The calculator assumes 30 seconds per parcel for manual packing and 700 parcels an hour for Paketör. From daily orders it derives the operators Paketör needs, takes the difference from your current staff and multiplies by monthly cost per person. Output: monthly and yearly saving, and payback in months if a machine price is entered.

How it is calculated
- Manual time: daily orders × manual seconds per parcel ÷ 3,600, divided by current staff.
- Paketör time: daily orders ÷ machine parcels per hour.
- Operators needed: Paketör time ÷ working hours, rounded up (minimum 1).
- Saving: (current staff − operators needed) × monthly cost per person. Yearly: × 12.
- Payback: machine price ÷ monthly saving.
Only labour is counted. Tape, multi-size bag stock, mislabelled returns and peak-day temps are excluded; the real saving is higher. How quickly does Paketör pay for itself?
With 1,500 orders a day, a three-person bench and the default cost per person, two people are freed; the monthly saving divided into the machine price gives the payback. In the home-page example it is about 4.5 months.
Why does the calculation only count labour?
Labour is the one measurable item that applies to every warehouse. Tape, bag stock, returns and temp savings vary too much between warehouses to include; the real saving is higher.
Where do the 30 seconds and 700 parcels an hour come from?
Averages from our field measurements. Manual time ranges 25-40 s depending on product and bench; Paketör runs 600-900 parcels an hour depending on item size. Enter your own measurement.
