Apparel packaging machine: folded garment, right-length bag, flat seal

T-shirts, sweatshirts, pyjamas, underwear: e-commerce's highest-volume and most campaign-driven category. In apparel the bench problem is not weight, it is count and the number of bag sizes.

Short answer

For apparel the Paketör PK-220 places the folded garment into a mailer cut from the roll, sets bag length to the item, evacuates air for a flat seal and applies the shipping label. One operator produces 700-900 apparel parcels an hour, from t-shirts to heavy sweatshirts on a single roll.

Why apparel packing jams

  • Count: low basket value, high order count. 1,000 orders a day is 1,000 bags.
  • Bag size: a t-shirt in a small bag, a coat in a large one. 3-4 sizes in stock and time spent choosing.
  • Air: folded garments puff up in the bag; hand-sealed seams stay bulky and parcel volume grows.
  • Campaigns: apparel is the centre of marketplace sales; orders multiply by three to five in a day.

How Paketör handles apparel

The operator scans the order and drops the folded garment on the belt. The bag opens by air, the item enters, the bag is cut to the garment's length. As the jaw closes, excess air is pushed out; the seam is flat and tight. The label prints and is applied, the parcel drops onto the conveyor. The apparel video on the home page shows the cycle in 25 seconds.

Apparel-specific settings

ItemSetting
T-shirts, underwear, socksNarrow roll (250-300 mm), high speed; close to 900/hour
Sweatshirts, tracksuits, pyjama setsMedium roll (350-400 mm), standard speed
Jackets, coats, blanketsWide roll (500-550 mm), longer seal time
Multi-item ordersItems stacked on the belt; bag cut to total height

A roll change takes two minutes; most apparel warehouses cover their whole mix with two widths.

Film and branding

Grey-black co-extruded mailer film is the apparel standard: it protects from light and moisture. Branded rolls are available and become part of the unboxing. Rolls come from us or your own supplier; no proprietary bags.

The number

1,500 apparel orders a day: three people for 8 hours on a manual bench; with Paketör one operator in about 2.5 hours. Run your own numbers, or see the marketplace page for the peak-day scenario.

FAQ

Most asked about this topic

Does a folded garment shift in the bag?

The belt delivers the item aligned to the bag mouth and the bag is cut to the item's length, so there is no slack. We test your own folding style at the demo.

Can a packing slip or flyer go in the bag?

Yes. The operator drops the slip on the belt with the item; the bag takes both.

How many apparel parcels an hour?

Close to 900 for t-shirt-class items, 600-700 for heavy garments.
