Packaging machine pricing: what are you paying for?
The honest answer to "how much is it?" is "it depends on the options". This page explains what makes up the price, the difference between machine classes, and what number you should compare the price against. A Paketör quote is prepared the same day from your daily order volume.
Short answer
The price of an e-commerce packaging machine depends on the machine class (tabletop sealer, semi-automatic, fully automatic), conveyor, label printer type, bag width range, barcode and integration, installation and training, and the service package. The seven items that set the price
1. Conveyor
The exit conveyor carries the parcel to the cart. Length and motor size affect price; small areas need only a short conveyor.
2. Label printer
An industrial thermal printer (SATO CL4NX class) is a visible part of the total. A desktop printer lowers the price but becomes the bottleneck at volume.
3. Bag width range
A wide jaw (up to 550 mm) means larger items; narrow-range machines are cheaper but run out of room when the product mix widens.
4. Barcode system
A fixed omnidirectional reader costs more than a hand scanner but keeps the operator's hands free.
5. Integration
Systems that print your marketplace or ERP label directly have no software cost. Systems that need their own software add licences and customisation.
6. Installation and training
Ask whether shipping, on-site installation and operator training are included. For Paketör, one day of installation and training is included.
7. Warranty and service
Warranty length, whether spare parts are stocked locally, remote support. The cheapest machine is not the one whose part arrives in six weeks.
