Footwear packaging machine: box into bag, bag into the cart

Shoes are already boxed; your job is to get the box into a mailer and label it. By hand, most of the time goes into pulling the bag over the box and sealing it without tearing the corners.

Short answer

For footwear the Paketör PK-220 takes the shoe box and other boxed items into a mailer cut from the roll, sets bag length to the box, seals it and applies the shipping label. The 250-550 mm bag width covers typical shoe, boot and sandal boxes; boxed items run at 600-700 parcels an hour.

What changes with boxed items

Folded apparel is soft and the bag conforms to it. A box is rigid; the bag must conform to the box. That changes three things:

  • Width: the bag must clear the box's width plus height. A standard shoe box needs a 350-400 mm roll, a boot box 450-550 mm.
  • Corners: box corners stress the film. Grey-black co-extruded film resists puncture; seal time is increased slightly for boxed items.
  • Label: the label sits on the bag over the box's flat face; scan readability is high.

How Paketör runs boxed items

The operator scans the order and places the box on the belt. The air-opened bag takes the box, is cut to the box length, the jaw seals, the label is applied, the parcel drops to the conveyor. The boxed-product video shows this in 28 seconds.

There is no single figure for box height; we measure your tallest box before the demo and run it on the machine if needed.

Unboxed footwear and multi-pair orders

Slippers and sandals shipped without a box are bagged like folded apparel. For two-box orders the boxes are stacked on the belt and the bag is cut to the total height. Very large orders stay in the carton flow.

Numbers and decision

Boxed items run a little slower than folded apparel: 600-700 parcels an hour. A warehouse shipping 800 pairs a day replaces a two-person bench with one operator finishing in about 1.5 hours. See the pricing guide and the calculator.

FAQ

Most asked about this topic

Will a shoe box tear the bag?

Co-extruded mailer film resists corner impact and seal time is increased for boxed items. We test with your own box at the demo.

Do boot boxes fit?

Bag widths up to 550 mm cover typical boot boxes. For unusual sizes we measure first.

Can two boxes go in one bag?

Yes. The boxes are stacked on the belt and the bag is cut to the total height.
